Civil Litigation

law book with pair of spectacles

Civil litigation is the expression given to the process of resolving public and private legal disputes between individuals and/or organisations on civil matters either by means of negotiation or if necessary through the courts.

Whether you are an individual or a business we can help you in a wide variety of issues in which you may become involved in a dispute with a third party. We can act for you whether you are a claimant – the person pursuing a claim against a third party – or a defendant – the person against whom a claim is being made.

In certain situations where you feel you have suffered as a result of the actions of a third party you may be entitled to financial compensation and we will pursue any possible claim for compensation vigorously on your behalf.

Our Commercial Department Partner, Gordon Wheeler, has many years experience and expertise in this area of law and is able to give sound, practical and cost efficient advice on any or all of the following issues:
  • Contractual disputes
  • Partnership and shareholder disputes
  • Debt issues – debt collection, debt consolidation
  • Bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings
  • Landlord & Tenant issues – rent arrears, dilapidations, disrepair
  • Housing issues – repossessions, neighbour disputes,
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Consumer disputes- e.g. with banks, shops, utility companies etc. arising from sale of goods or services
